Roger Fink, recipient of Award of Merit
The Brantford Minor Sports Association presented an Award of Merit to our own Roger Fink on Wednesday June 20, 2001 at their annual general meeting.

Roger is one of the club's unsung heroes.  He is always there to help  and is never one to have the spotlight on himself.  He is what we call a  true work horse - whatever you need, if at all possible, Roger will be there to do it and expect none of the credit.

Roger is the father of three girls and started coaching when the oldest was U-7 (she is now 21).  In House League he coached for three years and was an assistant coach for the select program for two of these three years.  He then became an assistant coach in the rep program and is still involved in this position today with his youngest daughter's team

Roger was also involved with indoor soccer for 8 years, being an assistant coach, the head coach and finally the head referee.

Roger has, since I have known  him (8 yrs) been part of the BICS executive in some sort of fashion and an integral part of our fundraising and tournaments.

For the last two years he has been equipment manager, which entails ordering, sizing of uniforms, making sure necessary equipment is available and keeping inventory of same.

Roger's first love is baseball, which he still participates in, but most often you will see him on the soccer field, always available to help out if need be and generally supporting soccer related activities in Brantford.

We can't begin to estimate the number of hours that Roger has selflessly donated to the youth of Brant through the sport of soccer. Volunteers like Roger are few and far between and this is why our organization nominated him for this award and we are happy that the board of the Brantford Minor Sports Association agreed with us.

Congratulations Roger!!!!!!
